195 mètres de fils telephoniques de la Mauritius Telecoms ont été volé vers le 19 mai 2012 dans la région de Butte à L’Herbe à Calodyne. C’est un employé de la compagnie qui a constaté le vol et alerté la police.

Northern Division
1. OB 1242/2012 Trou aux Biches Police – Fatal injury
On 19.05.2012 at 1040 hrs, whilst Mr. Farook Peerkhan, 41 yrs, residing at Camp de Masque Pave and V, 35 yrs, residing at Barlow were working at a site of construction of C Co Ltd at Royal Road, Trou aux Biches, a stone wall crumpled on them. The first named was pronounced dead and the second named is admitted to SSRN Hospital. Autopsy carried out over the deceased by Police Doctor certified that death was due to ‘cranio’ cerebral injuries.
2. Grand Gaube Police – Larceny (Mauritius telecom)
On 19.05.2012 at 1500 hrs, Mr S, 50 yrs, residing at Riviere du Rempart and Supervisor at Mauritius Telecom, reported that earlier at about 1000 hrs, whilst carrying out a survey from Butte à L’Herbe to Calodyne, he noticed that 195 m of underground cables have been stolen. Value stolen about Rs 5000/-. Property of Mauritius Telecom and is insured.

3. Tombeau Bay Police – Larceny (CWA meter)
On 19.05.2012 at 0915 hrs, Mr. H, 40 yrs, fisherman, residing at Tombeau Bay reported that on same day at 0830 hrs, when he visited his plot of land situated at Morc Filature, Tombeau Bay, he noticed that the CWA meter has been stolen. Property of CWA.

4. Line Barracks Police – Larceny on public road (Accused arrested)
On 19.05.2012 at 1430 hrs, one L, 18 yrs, residing at Ste Croix was arrested by passers-by at Victoria Square after he attempted to snatch the gold chain of Mrs. A, 51 yrs, no calling, residing at Mare D’Albert. Suspect was handed over to the Police and is detained. He is borne on records.+
5. Bain des Dames Police – Larceny breaking
On 20.05.2012 at 0815 hrs, Mr. J, 73 yrs, residing at Vallijee and owner of ‘JMB’ reported that between 1900 hrs on 19.05.12 and 0500 hrs on 20.05.12, his shop was broken into. A TV set, a decorder, cigarettes, foodstuffs, all worth about Rs. 93, 500 as well as sum of Rs. 7,500/- have been stolen.

6. OB 1037/2012 Stanley Police – Larceny on public road
On 19.05.2012 at 1655 hrs, Mrs. M, 58 yrs, maid, residing at Rose Hill reported that earlier at about 1415 hrs, she was walking alone along Dr. Manilall St, Trefles Rose Hill when she noticed an unknown young cyclist following her. Reaching the bus stop along Hugnin Road, Rose Hill whilst she was about to mount the bus, the latter snatched her gold chain, worth about Rs 4,000/- and rode away. She was not injured.
7. Quatre Bornes Police – Larceny on public road
On 20.05.2012 at 1650 hrs, Mrs. S, 71 yrs, residing at Rose Hill reported that on 19.05.2012 at about 1715 hrs, whilst she was walking back home along Ollier Ave, an unknown pedal cyclist snatched her gold chain worth about Rs. 15,000/- and rode away. She was not injured.
